It was a poor performance at Cardiff, there is no getting away with that so Foxes-Mad asked the fans what they thought of manager Craig Levein, here's what you said :-
" I'll say this - it really is HIS team now. He has had some money to spend and time to spend it and we can assume that most of the players now at the club are ones that he rates highly enough to do a job at this level.
Any manager must be judged by the team he puts out on the park... CL will succeed or fail by performances and results. At the moment, we're awful and his tactics and tinkering seem to leave a lot to be desired. "
" I'm getting worried.
When Levein came the style of play gradually improved. Later last season, results started improving as well.
At the moment, however, it seems the style of play is going out of the window, hence performances are poor, and so are the results! Not looking good at the moment. "
" I feel this time should be called the intermezzo period in the history of Leicester City.(in acknowledgement of JW's long word theory) A short work of off key music in a longer composition of excellence...hopefully. "
" I believe that Levein will ultimately be very good for Leicester City. The rebuilding task he has iwill not be sorted out in the short term. Not only has he had to slash the wage bill (and has to do some more if he can), but he has had to bring in players good enough to stablise things, some of those will be good enough to take us forward some will not.
My guess is that he has set himself a something like a 5 year plan. Many of the current squad will not go all the way with him, and we the fans might not be satisfied with the early years. But I see that this guy is a planner and a builder. He will have very limited funds to work with until we get close to the promotion target.
Fans are entitled to want success in the short term, its been done before, but it never lasts. What should really ask for is guaranteed survival of the club and a year on year improvement, ultimately ending with Promotion, maybe before the planned term.
There are some fundementals that are not right at the moment; confidence, consistency, set piece defending, goalkeeping errors, etc. But this list is a lot shorter than this time last year!
I'll stick with hime because a) I think he knows what he is doing, b) I can't think of anyone else who we could reasonably expect to do any better.
Of course this is the view of an old geezer who has seen the very best and the very worst pf Leiceter City over the past 40 years. "
" I have taken on board your reply to my posting yesterday morning about the boss and giving him time.I agree with you that we all cant keep making excuses all the time, but I genuinely believe things have gone against us in every game this season.EG the opening fixture do you really believe we lost that 4-1,we were robbed.
I do really believe this manager is the one to take us forward,he needs a whole season with his players to show what his ideas are.
Men like Ferguson who took time to get it right at Aberdeen as well as Manure,Shankley,Alf ramseyand Bobby Robson at Ipswich,Venger at Arsenal and many more great managers havent got it right overnight.
The only one who has is the fruitcake at Chelsea but my dog would win the league for them with the money he has to spend.
Levein is held in the highest regard by coaches in the game and when he was at Hearts.Valencia and Paris St Germain came looking at him.
Clubs of that status dont come looking unless you are well regarded and have what it takes.
I think we are lucky to get him lets give it time and get right behind him, starting at Wolves on Saturday. "
