Pearson Rings Changes Ahead of Terriers Cup Clash

Following a disappointing late collapse against Peterborough United on Saturday, the distraction of tonight's FA Cup replay could prove to be the perfect remedy for the Foxes.

And, with the incentive of hosting Premier League outfit Wigan Athletic at the King Power Stadium in the Fifth Round of the competition on Saturday - Pearson's men should relish the opportunity.

The tie also gives Pearson's fringe players a vital chance to prove their worth and force a place in the first team ahead of the climax of what will prove to be a dramatic climax to the Championship promotion race.

With the status of Chris Wood's injury still relatively unclear - Martyn Waghorn and Marko Futacs will be eager to impress tonight. Hungarian striker Futacs in particular has rarely featured of late but is expected to be given a chance to shine tonight.

Elsewhere Lloyd Dyer should prove a natural replacement for Ben Marshall on the left wing - the England Under-21 is ruled out with a foot injury.

Paul Gallagher and Richie Wellens can also expect some match time tonight as Pearson is expected to take the opportunity to rest some of his more regular starters.

The visitors meanwhile, have a host of injury concerns to contend with - perhaps none more significant than the absence of City loanee Jermaine Beckford.

Former Fox James Vaughan will undergo a late fitness test whilst Lee Novak - scorer of the Terriers' goal in the original tie between these two sides, is also expected to miss out.
