Abe Set For City Debut

Having impressed Paolo Sousa since his arrival from Japanese side Urawa Reds last month, the midfielder has thrown himself in contention to face Cardiff City tonight.

The City boss is confident after an impressive display away at Coventry City on Saturday.

Sousa said of Saturday's clash: 'The players were very happy with their performance. Of course they recognise it was a game we should have won from what we created, but I feel they are very enthusiastic and confident in our future. They played really well.'

Despite City's winless record so far in the Championship, they have showed signs of real attacking intent - 11 shots on target against Coventry proves this. And Sousa believes his teams fortunes will change if they continue to perform as they have been.

The Foxes are desperate for a win tonight but Sousa is not panicking: 'Against Cardiff we will have to be at our very best. We have to be competitive from the beginnning to get the points.

'If we can win this game and win again on Saturday against QPR, it will be a big step for us in the progress we are trying to make.' He added.

The Foxes faithful will be hoping the players can deliver Sousa's somewhat ambitious aim of six points in the next two fixtures.
