Adams disappointed with Ferdinand

Ferdinand was dismissed for two acts of dissent towards the end of the first half in the 3-1 defeat at Villa and Adams could offer no defence for the veteran striker.

"Les will be disappointed with that and rightly so, equally as disappointed as I am," said the Foxes boss after the game.

"I don't think you can defend that - and I'm not going to sit here and defend him. But any action will be kept internal."

Three goals in the first twenty minutes sent the Foxes to their heaviest defeat of the season so far and Adams was not pleased with the way they defended during the first half.

"Villa started very well and we couldn't cope with it. We showed our defensive frailties," he said.

"We haven't looked like conceding too many goals in other games but if you get the basics wrong that is what can happen to us.

"I don't take anything out of the game that encourages me. Now we have to go back to the drawing board in the next two weeks and start again."
