Carl Asaba joined City two weeks ago and has been training with the team along with Gareth Farrelly. Both players are out of contract and have been training under the careful eye of Rob Kelly.
And with the team out of action for 11 days, this will give Kelly a chance to put the players through their paces. Asaba drew interest from Kelly and began training with the squad two weeks ago before being joined by 31 year old Gareth Farrelly.
When talking about the situation, Assistant manager Mike Stowell said: 'Gareth has had spells at Bolton, Everton and Wigan and he now wants to play football again. We know he is a good player and we will take a look at him.'
Farrelly and Asaba both took part in todays friendly match against Derby and manager Rob Kelly will now concentrate on deciding if the players have a permanent position at the club. Any contracts offered are likely to be completed in the near future.
