Bournemouth 2-1 Leicester: Christie strike earns Cherries comeback win

Bournemouth produced a stirring comeback to beat Leicester on Saturday afternoon as two second-half goals saw the Cherries earn their first Premier League win since early September.

Leicester - buoyed by their 4-0 thrashing of Nottingham Forest on Monday night - took the lead when Patson Daka reacted quickest to swivel and fire in on the rebound from Harvey Barnes' shot.

However, two goals in four second-half minutes from Philip Billing and Ryan Christie helped the Cherries move up to eighth, leaving the Foxes down in 19th.

Bournemouth started brightly, playing the ball around Leicester's press and getting into their box through Christie, but the move broke down before the visitors took the lead in the tenth minute.

A cross from Youri Tielemans found Barnes. His shot was blocked by Marco Senesi but rebounded off Jefferson Lerma and into the path of Daka, who got to the ball fastest to strike beyond Neto.

A generally flat game livened up in the second half when Bournemouth found their shooting boots.

Billing first found the target to equalise, lashing in on the volley after Dominik Solanke had a shot blocked, before Christie put the Cherries ahead.

Billing was involved again, floating a ball in for Solanke to nod into Christie's path and the Scotland international made no mistake, hooking the ball slightly unconvincingly beyond Danny Ward.

The hosts thought they'd bagged a third to put the seal on the victory, but it was disallowed for offside.
