Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers has revealed it's unlikely that his side will land Philippe Coutinho in the summer transfer window.
The Foxes are likely to return to the Champions League for the first time since the 2016/17 season regardless of how the season plays out, and have been linked with a move for Barcelona midfielder Coutinho.
However, Rodgers - who managed Coutinho at Liverpool - has played down a move for the Brazil international.
Speaking to Eamonn Holmes on the Eamonn and the Gaffers podcast via Goal (yeah, seriously), Rodgers said: "I’ve seen lots of speculation around young Phil, I don’t think… Philippe’s a wonderful player, a brilliant talent, but he would be someone who is way out of our price bracket.
Despite Leicester not spending too much of the £80m they received for Harry Maguire last summer, the impact of the coronavirus means it will still be difficult for Leicester to do the business they had hoped.
“In terms of transfers, it’s something that we’re tentatively looking at. The market I feel is going to be very difficult this year, this coming summer," Rodgers added.
“It’s one where we have discussions but there’s certainly nothing concrete at this stage.”
Rodgers also said that former club Liverpool deserve to win the title regardless of how the season finishes, with the Reds two wins away from being crowned Premier League winners.
"They've clearly been consistently the best team," he said. "The level that they've been playing at, the quality - they've just been absolutely fantastic.
"So it would be an absolute shame if they don't get the chance to lift the title.
“They've been waiting so, so long - they're deserving of it. But Jurgen [Klopp] will be like everyone, hoping that we can get back playing but obviously in a safe environment.”
