At the top of the table City have a 12 point gap on Peterborough who are 2nd and a 15 point gap on the MK Dons. Third placed MK have three games in hand though. They might try to fiht for the title but automatic promotion is geting closer to Leicester City's grasp.
Steve Howard and Matty Fryatt made it a 2 - 0 half time scoreline with Tom Cleverley and Matt Oakley adding goals in the 2nd half. That's now 23 league games unbeaten.
Boss Nigel Pearson said after the weekend win: "I'm very pleased with the result.
"It was one of those games where we had to make sure we accomplished all the right things and turned our territorial advantage into goals.
"It was top versus bottom, potentially the worst kind of banana skin.
"However, we are still some distance away from achieving our goal of promotion.
"We may be in a strong position, but we now have to concentrate on two very tough away games at Tranmere Rovers and Millwall."
City are at Tranmere on Wednesday evening.
