De Vries joined Dutch club Heerenveen on a four month loan spell in January. During his loan spell, De Vries performed well scoring three goals in nine appearances for the club who narrowly missed out on UEFA Cup qualifying.
However, this was not enough to impress head coach, Gertjan Verbeek who decided against offering the Striker a full term contract.
When talking to Dutch Newspaper, De Telegraaf, De Vries said that Verbeek had told him he 'preferred other strikers for the new season'.
Despite De Vries not being a complete favourite with the Blue Army, he did finish the season joint top goalscorer with nine goals, including his third round FA Cup winning goal against Tottenham.
Meanwhile, Australian Skipper Danny Tiatto has been offered a new contract much to the pleasure of Rob Kelly who told the LCFC Official website:
'We have made an offer to Danny and we are currently waiting on a response... We hope to hear from him soon.'
The 32 year old will discuss a contract renewal when he returns from his pre season rest in Australia.
