"We will have another look at Les in the next 24 hours and see if his knee has settled down and responded to the work we have done with him this week," Foxes boss Micky Adams said.
"If it is no better than we will get him in to see a surgeon. He has had a scan on the knee and that revealed very little so it is not a major problem.
"Les has got a bit of an old cartilage injury but the initial diagnosis seems to be that there is bruising rather than anything torn.
"But if we need to we will hopefully get Les in for an exploratory operation sooner rather than later if we need to.
"We are monitoring his progress on a day-to-day basis but we don't want this dragging on and it is better to get things sorted if a little operation is required.
"Les has an important part to play for us this season and the experience of him and some of the other players will be important."
