Patrik Gerrbrand has had his contact at Leicester City cancelled by mutual consent.
The 25-year old defender, made 17 starts for the Foxes last season, but during pre-season has failed to establish himself in the first team squad.
Former manager Craig Levein signed the Swede in July 2005 for an undisclosed fee from Swede side, Hammarby.
Foxes boss, Rob Kelly said: "Patrik has received an offer from a club in Norway. He wants to go back to Scandinavia and we have agreed to cancel his contract to allow him to make the move".
"We wish him all the best for the future".
Foxes-mad had reported earlier how the Swede was on his way, and now it has been confirmed. It is thought that he has been approached by Norwegian side Fredrikstad.
The Swedish Defenders chances of a first team place had been affected by the arrivals of summer signings, Gareth McAuley and Darren Kenton, and now the defender has indeed moved on.
