He told the official website: "I have to first of all congratulate Roberto's side. I thought that they out-passed us and played very well on the day.
"But the qualities that have got us in to the position that we are in are not just to do with ability. The players showed a lot of honesty and determination not to get beat.
"It was a difficult day for us because Milton Keynes played very well. It was one of those days. If you can't be good, be lucky.
"We weren't at our best and we got away with it. But I make no apologies for that. You have to work hard to make luck for yourselves and I think that we did that in the end. It's a good point for us.
"Roberto's side still had the chance to exert some pressure on us after we had scored. We gave them a cheap free kick and they had a corner as well.
"It was a frustrating day for us in many ways. We have played some good football this season, but I thought they were better than us in how they passed the ball. That is not something that has happened too often.
"We showed a lot of resilience and it is a pleasing outcome to the afternoon because it looked like our unbeaten run was possibly going to come to an end."
