"I was very happy at Forest when I joined them," Impey told the Forest official website.
"It was a pleasure to be part of things at the end of the season when we did so well to finish on a high.
"Like a lot of players I am sure the future is very bright for Forest and I'm looking forward to being here again in August in a permanent deal."
