Joey Gudjonsson's move to Leicester represents his 3rd spell with an English club, but his first that is permanent. He joined Aston Villa on loan from Real Betis scoring goals against Middlesbrough and Leeds in the process. Last season he was on loan at Wolves, only scoring in a league cup game against Darlington. He was also in the side for THAT game at Molineux .... (hopefully I need never mention it again!) He is a midfielder, with an attacking brain, and renowned for a powerful shot. Those of us who were at the Pepsi Max tournament will have seen several attempts, suggesting he needs to work on his accuracy. He also demonstrated his ability to defend, with some good challenges. He's a player that has promised much, and I believe he could be a key signing for us this year. He is an Icelandic International, having achieved 17 caps for his country, and scoring 1 goal. Micky Adams said "Joey is a strong midfield player who we hope will win the ball and play it simple in the middle of the park." Don't we all Micky!! | ||||||
