Paul Henderson has dislocated his finger whilst skipper Patrick McCarthy and new signing Darren Kenton are also plagued with pre-season injuries.
And, although this means injured players such as Henderson are unlikely to feature in the remaining pre-season matches against Licoln and Real Sociedad, Kelly sees the situation as a chance to give his younger, less experienced players an opportunity to impress.
'It is natural after playing three games and our week of intensive training at Mottram Hall that we have picked up a few bumps and bruises... It will give some of the younger players the chance of some more action.' The City manager explained.
