Rob Kelly came away from last nights friendly against Boston United full of confidence after seeing his side win the game 4-1.
Kelly used the pre-season friendly as an opportunity to use 22 of his players, giving them all vital match practise before the start of the new campaign.
The team including all new summer signings, played well together and came out on top after goals from Iain Hume, Josh Low and an impressive double by Chris O'Grady.
After the match, Kelly challenged the squad, and in particular, Mark De Vries, Momo Sylla and Joe Hamill (who were not included in the action) with the clear message that he wants the players to fight for their places in the first team.
Talking after the match, Kelly said:
'This is how we are at the moment in terms of the strikers. It is up to Mark (De Vries) to push his way past them. He should look at it as a challenge... No one has fallen out with anybody. It is nothing personal. I have spoken to them all and their task is simply to get in the team.'
The squads only injury worry concerns James Wesolowski. The youngster limped off the pitch shortly before half time. The midfielder will be hoping it is nothing serious after missing the majority of last season with a broken leg.
