Patrick Kisnorbo has signed an extension on his current contract to end rumours of a summer departure to a Premiership club.
Kisnorbo, who has been linked with Wigan Athletic and Birmingham City during the summer, has extended his contract a further year, commiting himself to the Foxes until the end of the 2008/09 campaign.
The deal is good news for City fans who feared the popular Australian was on the verge of a move to a new club. And whilst no news of a transfer was good news, Kisnorbo's contract extension confirms that he will be a City player next season.
'It's always flattering to be mentioned in association with other clubs. Getting that recognition means my form is catching the eye and sometimes you need that outside reassurance to push you on.'
Kisnorbo, who made 41 appearances for Leicester last season, is pleased that all the speculation is over and now knows he can concentrate on the season ahead at the Walkers Stadium.
Writing his column on Tribalfootball.com, Kisnorbo assessed the clubs future in the Coca Cola Championship:
'We're a Premiership club in the making ... If we can continue the form we showed towards the end of last season, we will definitely be pushing for promotion this term.'
