The much-travelled 31-year-old striker has been struck by a viral infection, but Rovers have no other concerns.
Tranmere manager Ronnie Moore told BBC Radio Merseyside:
"I think he [Leicester boss Nigel Pearson] has got a nice squad of players there, a bit of experience, a bit of youth, a bit of pace so it'll be a big tester for us.
"Stability is probably one of the big things that they haven't had and I think Nigel will be hoping now that, that happens.
"He has a good squad of players and I think that at this level they're not going to be too far away."
