Eriksson knows the Premier League boss well having managed Mancini at Italian Serie A club Sampdoria and he said: 'I spoke to Mancini and asked him to come here with the reserves. He said no. He says he's coming with all his big players.
'I asked him if at least Tevez could have a rest. Again, he said no!
'I understand - they want to win trophies.'
The glamorous FA Cup Third Round tie has an added interest for Eriksson, as he prepares to face his former club for the first time since his 2008 dismissal and he refuses to rule them out of the Premier League title race:
'City are one of the richest and best clubs in the world, they still have a chance to win the Premier League.' He added.
Tickets are selling fast for the match, which kicks off at 4.00pm on Sunday.
