Milan Mandaric had been involved in talks with the former MK Dons boss before todays press conference to unveil Allen as the new manager of the Walkers Stadium based Foxes.

speaking about the announcement, Mandaric said: 'I believe Martin Allen's arrival at Leicester City is a significant appointment as the club prepare for widesepread changes that will bring underachievement on the field to an end.'

The Serbian then went on to hint at potentially a mass surge in the transfer market by saying: 'Martin's arrival is the first of many that will ultimately reshape the destingy of the club and restore belief that has been desperately missing over the last few seasons.'

Allen added: 'Along the way we will have some fun, some laughs and a few tears of joy and sadness. But I can see the stadium being sold out on a regular basis to fans who enjoy watching a team with passion and a team who will be proud to wear the shirts of Leicester City.'
