"Because our form has not been as good as we would have liked and others have put together some fantastic runs, it has got a lot tighter.
"Now it is a time for keeping our nerve and making sure we achieve the standard to which we have aspired to all season.
"It is going to be a tough run-in and, as always, it is about what we do ourselves.
"We have put ourselves in a good position but now it is about keeping our nerve.
"The temptation is to look elsewhere.
"But it is up to us to keep our side of the bargain."
He added: "We have got those five games left and it is about what we do.
"It is more interesting than it was a couple of weeks ago and I would rather be in a position that was a little more comfortable.
"But we are still in a very strong position and it is important that, collectively, we see the job through.
"I have great belief in the squad to do that."
