Many fans will regard the result as dissapointing when considering the promising start the Foxes have made at the Walkers Stadium this season, especially in contrast to the desperate state Peterborough find themselves in. But, last night was far from a pleasing performance and City might count themselves lucky to retain their unbeaten home record.
Moments after taking the lead, Peterborough found themselves in a four on one situation with only Jack Hobbs protecting Chris Weale between the posts, miraculously Posh failed to capitalise and the Foxes left the field at half time with their tails between their legs.
Pearson must have had some strong words for his failing Foxes because just two minutes into the second half, Matty Fryatt stepped up to convert a penalty awarded somewhat harshly for handball. After missing a guilt edge one on one chance in the first half, scoring the penalty was a must and he held his nerve to send Joe Lewis the wrong way.
Despite having the majority of the second half chances, Craig Mackail-Smith nearly stole a first win for his manager when his rasping drive flew inches wide of Weale's post.
Reflecting on the game, a pleased Pearson said: 'I have to give them credit tonight. Their tempo was such that it made it difficult for us to get our game going.
'Certainly at half-time we were more relieved to go in just 1-0 down because they played very well, caused us some problems and it was important we regrouped.
'We needed to change our shape and personnel just to give ourselves the opportunity to get back into the game.
I can't begrudge them something out of the game because I think they deserved it.' Pearson added.
The Foxes will be chasing their first away win of the Championship campaign when they travel to Vicarage Road on Saturday to face Watford.
