Leicester City goalkeeper Ricardo says the fact that Sven-Goran Eriksson would be his manager played a big part in his decision to play for the Foxes. The 35-year-old joined on a deal until the end of the season following a short trial and kept a clean sheet on his debut against Derby County on Saturday.
Ricardo told BBC Radio Leicester: "I am proud to work with him and glad to be here. He is a great man and manager.
"I have known him since I was a kid because he was a coach in Portugal."
Ricardo, who won 79 caps for his country, was delighted with his debut display in the
2-0 win at Pride Park.
"I'm very happy because it's my first game since a lot of time without playing and to get a victory is very good," he added.
"I am glad to be here. I have been received very well. The work is very hard and I like this; I came from a different kind of football and different kind of training."
