Sven Goran Eriksson's side have lost only one of their last 10 league games and have closed to within two points of Leeds following their 1-1 draw with Coventry on Saturday.
Bamba said: "I don't think it's beyond us (automatic promotion), we can still reach it.
"It's going to be more difficult, but it's our main target. If we don't make it then we want to be in the play-offs.
"I think we can still do it because the league is very tough and there are a lot of ups and downs. We've got a big game coming up and the top teams have got to play each other as well, so I'm sure some teams are going to drop some points.
"If we get back to winning ways I'm sure we can still be there in May. If we play fast and move the ball as quick as we can we can still beat any team in this league."
