Striker Speculation Continues

Despite Saturdays 4-0 drubbing of Shrewsbury Town proving the Foxes can fire in the goals, the squad is most certainly still in need of at least one new striker to compliment Steve Howard and Matty Fryatt in attack.

The pair helped themselves to 45 goals last season but, with tougher opposition awaiting in the Championship, strength in depth will be vital if Pearson is to even come close to making Mandaric's Premiership dream a reality.

Leroy Lita, suprisingly released by Reading at the end of last season, has emerged as a fans favourite to add firepower to the Foxes frontline. And, speculation suggests that Leicester are favourites to sign the striker because they are most likely to match the players wage demands.

However, today the ever speculative Daily Star reported that Nigel Pearson is set to table a £750,000 bid for Birmingham's veteran Kevin Phillips.
