Two first-half goals from Mark Yeates had put the Blades in front after Paul Gallagher opened the scoring for the Foxes early on.
But Leicester rescued a point through Steve Howard's injury-time penalty after Yeates had been penalised for handball.
When asked if his side were fortunate to claim a point, Eriksson responded: "Yes, I think so. It looked bad at the end. We tried very hard but it`s never easy in this league.
"Was it a penalty or not? I don't know. But if I want to be positive I think the lads showed good character and chased an equaliser very well.
"We know in the dressing room that we can do better and we have to do better. It was not our best day but we got one point, so I think in the end we have to be happy with that."
