The former Blackburn and Leeds player was expected to be released in addition with the list announced by Levein last week. However, along with Dion Dublin, Wilcox has been provided the opportunity to be part of Levein's rebuilding plan for next season.
Due to a cruciateligament injury sustained at Coventry in October, Wilcox has been restricted to just 11 starts in a Leicester shirt. Wilcox returned from injury towards the latter part of the season where he started against Millwall in a 3-1 victory, but made no further appearances after that.
