The goal has helped put valuable breathing space between the Foxes and the relegation zone.
Hayles said:
'It wasn't the greatest goal I've ever scored, but I'll take it. We are enjoying our football, we are defending well and then nicking the odd goal or two.'
'I am glad that I am repaying the managers faith in me with a couple of important goals.' he added.
The Foxes next outing is on Saturday when they travel to Simon Graysons' Blackpool, hoping to avenge the 1-0 defeat on the first day of the season.
