Jody Morris and Danny Dichio handed Millwall their first win of the season in an ill-tempered match against ten-man Leicester.
The two teams barged and booted their way through the game, with Dennis Wise the main culprit for Millwall and Martin Keown the guilty party for the visitors.
And the sides almost came to blows four times in the match as referee Steve Dunn did his best to cool tempers.
Wise, sacked by Leicester two seasons ago, was lucky to be on the pitch by half time after clattering first Jordan Stewart, then David Connolly, for which he received a booking.
And Martin Keown, a recent arrival from Arsenal, picked up quickly that there is no love lost between the two sides by continually ribbing Dichio, before he was booked for a late tackle on David Livermore.
And four minutes from time Chris Makin was handed a straight red when he tripped a goalbound Stefan Moore just outside the penalty area, after Marvin Elliott had put his team mate through with a superb pass from his own half.
New signing Adrian Serioux was one of the few players easy on the eye, and he has slotted immediately into the role left vacant by Tim Cahill.
It was Serioux's 25-yard throw-in 36 minutes into the match that led to Morris' goal after skimming the head of Dichio.
And he almost had a goal on his Millwall debut in the 55th minute but his volley flew just high of the crossbar, before Dichio had two headers fly wide of the post.
Serioux's performance - just a week after arriving from Canada - seemed to placate the home fans, who were protesting about the lack of new faces during their match in midweek.
But while Millwall claim they have been unable to sign new players in the close season, it has clearly not been a problem for Leicester, who boasted five new arrivals in their squad.
Either side of the break Leicester had two chances to equalise, first when Connolly's lob cleared the bar.
Then straight after the break Jamie Scowcroft should have levelled for Leicester but his close-range header was palmed away by Graham Stack.
Leicester stepped up the tempo in the second half, and Connolly was unlucky not to have been rewarded with a goal after some blistering runs through Millwall's defensive line.
But Dichio sealed the game for the home side with 15 minutes to go, when he latched on to a loose ball to slot home from 18 yards.
